Helle Fabrikker was founded in 1932, and Helle knives are produced today in Holmedal, Norway. The Helle blades are constructed from laminated steel: a layer higher-carbon and harder (59-62 Rockwell) steel in the middle, sandwiched between two layers of lower-carbon, more durable steel to add strength. This results in a blade with is both tough, durable, and retains its sharpness without sacrificing blade strength. Exceptional care is taken in every aspect of the knife construction: the blade, sheath, handle, and fittings all reflect a strong attention to detail.
