These stones are about halfway between medium and fine, maybe around 1000 grit. They're useful for most sharpening tasks, whether the knife just needs a quick touch-up or is duller and requires more work to get it back into use. This large stone is around 10" long, 2" wide and 0.5" thick. This stone comes mounted on a cedar block, which is useful if you want to mount the stone to a table or bench.
