The Leuku is the traditional camp knife of the Sami, who are indigenous to the far northern region of Scandinavia. It is used for butchering game, building shelter, skinning, and chopping wood. These are large, serious knives designed for serious wilderness chores. The blade is lightly inscribed with the Iisakki Järvenpää signature. When you hold this knife in your hand, you can feel the solid construction and high quality. The handle is made from curly birch wood, lacquered and polished to a smooth finish, and has a flared pommel to prevent the knife from slipping out of your hand.

The sheath is nicely detailed with stamped and stained artwork, it contains a plastic liner to prevent the very sharp blade from slicing through, and the belt loop is a twisted leather cord, which allows the knife to swing freely and keep out of the way when you're crouching or sitting.

Below are the detailed measurements of this knife. One important note: for best comfort and grip, the length of your middle finger should be similar to the circumference of the handle.
